If there was an app that had all the aspects of poetry, the poetry experience, and community, What would it have?

For all members this is the only way
they know their contribution has been
appreciated in any way. If you aren't
comfortable critiquing a poem, at least
drop a note explaining what you liked.

We're all in this thing together. Under the
"tools" tab is the "undiscovered works". They
consist of poetry with less than two comments,
everyone deserves the satisfaction of at least
being taken seriously enough to read and leave
a comment.

I've been trying a getting into the habit of creating a daily writing practice so I can creating my poems for publication, but I don't always know the next poem I want to write, I have nothing else to put to a poem(s) I'm currently working on, and I've written every practice list I could think of (alliteration, metaphors, etc.)

Does anyone have any tips, ideas, or exercises that can help to increase my completion of poems and increase my wordplay?

Late June 2014 I wad reading my copy of Jazz Poetry Anthology by Sasha Feinstein. Richard Kostelanetz has two long margin to margin experimental "poems" . Interconnecting syllabled words for eighteen lines. What I created was a personalized haiku style. Yes , I said haiku following the seventeen syllables meter. Most of the 22 I created are themed. However I have not yet shared any for public viewing.

One idea I had was each participant chooses one of their own poems that they are really unhappy with, just can't seem to make it work and we'll workshop the shit out of each one. We could call it either "Feeding Frenzy" or "Group Hug".

We will be looking at an expansion of contests in 2016, beginning in February. Each contest will have a theme and will required some fairly specific inclusions as far as style, subject matter, and length.

Additionally, the winner of each contest will get a $25, US dollar, gift certificate from Amazon.com. This will require the winners to provide, privately, their e-mail addresses.

Why are we doing this?

For several reasons.

1) We want you to write outside your comfort zone

We are using the social networks, have got some new members. Neopoet is shrinking. The same old members post. If everyone mentioned www.neopoet.com on their social networks, Facebook, Tumblr, Google+, etc it would help people find the joy of poetry. Encourage rap. There is fine work there and encouraging a whole new generation in interest in poetry. Neopoet is unique in helping new or aspiring poets develop their work.

We really help people find the joy of poetry.
