Where to go
when there is nowhere.
where to run
when you are hamstrung.
how to hide
from the demons
that follow
how to fill
a heart grown hollow.
how to find
the self you left behind

Loved the title
and the question. Food for thought indeed.
I'd however put them another way
Where to go
when there is nowhere.
where to run
when you are hamstrung.
how to hide
from the demons
that follow
how to fill
a heart grown hollow.
how to find
the self you left behind.
Just thoughts but yours are really expressive.
Thanks for sharing.
Good suggestion. Will use the
Good suggestion. Will use the change. I wrote this quickly as I was thinking if difficult choices to make since my disease has progressed. I live alone in South Florida, My family wants me to move back to New York--where things are very expensive, I own my condo and life is less stressful here financially, but I am alone most of the time. To move would mean giving up so much that I spent years to build.
Thanks,
Joe
I understand the dilemma
It's like being on a crossroad and need to
decide. Hope you'd find the right direction.
family means spouse
if so I wonder why you want to live alone
Florida is warm and New York is cold
expensive as you say too
But then take a calculated decision
remain in self control
on ur condo keep a hold
ere you'd wish to return
But read my poem
about some spouse ...
A DESIRE
Joe
Do not go
Never leave your Home
You may feel alone
But there are many that are near
Just choose one and never fear.
Friends can be made
I shall prepare a mould for you
Of trust that they will pop in
That their face has a lovely grin
Then sense of humour by the ton
To give to you a mile of fun
Where the journey's end cannot be seen.
A heart to keep all grass green
That they will make time to see you through
Stay here, this place is made by you.
Yours Ian.T
Another truly good one Joe,
Another truly good one Joe,

Some of my best writing comes
Some of my best writing comes in periods of crisis. That is when truth is pure and ""ïnnocent"" and not tainted by artifice,

Joe
A crisis sharpens your mind
and has the ability to slow things down.
The things that happen then are easily seen.
Take care, and all that are with you, bless them.

Hi
Many retreat into the dark forest of their own minds when stressed. Thus far, at least, I've been able to enter into real forests when being burdened. As to your quandry I think you should ask yourself where you'd be happiest................stan
Hi Joe
How amazing you're poem is! How vivid your imagery is. Using words like hamstrung, demons that follow and a heart that's grown hollow really highlight how debilitating and crippling having a long term sickness is!
Thank you for helping us understand from your point of view. ( incredibly honest poetry )
Love Mand xxxxxx
I am so happy you have seen
I am so happy you have seen the "mark"of my poems. It I who I am and what I feel. It is the journal of a dark period in my life. But I will transcend this latest "blow'' as I have all the others.
Thanks, Mand for encouraging me,
Joe

You are an inspiration! :)
Joe,
Joe i can only add that i like this a lot, and i hope it helps in your decision. Regards Roscoe...
Only the last line jars with me
but that is me, not you.
I have always invented the self left behind,
This poem strikes me in many ways and is beautifully and sparsely written.
:) Thank you, Jess. Joe
