We’ve been married for many a year.
I like wine and he likes beer.
He talks a lot about world affairs,
politics and falling shares.
I like shopping in charity shops,
Tesco sales and coffee stops.
He likes cricket and detective films,
Doctor Who and magic realms.
I like Spring watch and BBC four.
Doc Martin and Patrick Moore.
He likes to read the “New Scientist”.
Not much else is on his list.
I like the moon and the starry sky,
where hawk moths and fairies fly.
He likes opera; a baritone voice,
G and S would be his choice.
I like flowers; a warm summer day.
The seaside and kids at play.
He likes football; like Portsmouth club.
Chinese ribs and lots of grub.
I like to rock, when the music beats;
Zynga games and chocolate treats.
He likes to chat, but wont suffer fools;
E type jags and greasy tools.
I like to talk about verse and prose,
house repairs and money woes.
He likes to cook! I like to eat
so I guess our life’s complete.
there again,
we both hate golf.…….

Verse four,
Verse four line two, did you mean (where hawk moth and fairies fly) apart from that it's humourously great. Love Roscoe...

Lovely Mand
Loved the spontaneity of this, and yes opposites attract.
The title seems to fit well too.
Thanks for sharing.

I think a lot of couples are chalk and cheese, me and my partner are we have very different tastes in things and this could have been written for us I thoroughly enjoyed the read the only boggle I have is these two lines
He likes to sing, like Pavarotti.
Trouble is he's out of key.
the rest of the poem has a wonderful flow but these two lines for me just didn't do it, just my opinion see what others think I maybe on the wrong track lol
love and hugs JC xxx
Hi JC
Glad you pointed that out! I struggled with that line - I'll do a re-think and edit a.s.a.p. - Nice to know we are not the only couple with opposite likes and dislikes. He he
