MI RICORDO [ I REMEMBER ]

MI RICORDO
[I REMEMBER ]

a gray silence fell on the House
pale faces in black dresses
moved in slow motion
across the kitchen floor
like robots doing daily chores
no word was spoken
one voice was missing
one seat was empty
one House was broken

A good picture of a house that has lost a member, there always seems to be a space there, nothing seems to be able to fill the space as it echoes all the years of memories someone has laid at the table.

Powerful imagery! The expression "A gray silence.." set the scene of this sad and sombre occasion. Anyone who has lost someone they love in death will fully understand and relate to everything in this poem, especially the last three lines.

This a good write Joe - well done.

superbly
sad yes ,
but absolutely marvelous
some day
we will also leave an empty chair
silently
swiftly
maybe
unknown
