ECHOES

ECHOES

I am a ghost walking through
the years invisible and unseen
haunting my yesterdays.
I call out to death's silence deep
but echoes of my own terror
reverberate across the universe
cold and unforgiving
in silent denial.

echo on a cliff
The horizon is far
yet not distant enough,
we surf our ways across the seas,
we fly over sand dunes
and
surpass all eventualities…
none is brave enough,
to place a boulder
nor a hand upon our shoulder,
to prevent our movement
from, darkness to light
we are the torch bearers
of a midnight storm
we can create history
and
in reverie slumber,
those who thought
they were upper most,
down the cliffs of no return ,
lost in the dungeons of everlasting misery
rotting beneath the great fallen tree
unheard! so be it.

that you mean. I've heard them all myself.
The immediacy of their call bounces from my history.
Oh, to be unaware of our mortality as we were in our youth.
Fear not! Your words and thoughts, once voiced;
will be carried in some hearts past the exit. ~ Gee
