Pictures by Mim and Caroline at a photographic art exhibition

Since photoshop
Photos have become lies,
But for some…
Photos can be cryptomnesia
Reminding us,
Like words of wisdom,
learned as if remembered.

Or a reminder of the numinous,
the luminous,
ever voluminous
in every day life,
if we but look.

Being reminded of an event through photos, as you say with the modern processors they can lie..
Bring back the old Sepia ones, but I knew from a photographic friend about 30 years ago, that he doctored the pictures.
But the image is the thing that triggers the memory..
Thank you for your attention to detail now I have to go to the phobias.
It is good exercise though to look up those words some use.
Take care, Yours Ian.T

it is something you should be well aware of. Learning things that were once forgotten or viceversa remembering things once learnt.

It is what the best of poetry does.

I infer that cryptomnesia is the act of learning or remembering that which has been forgotten. Reckon that will be my new word for the day lol. I think this poem is splendid in pointing out how well visual aids, in this case pictures, do in reminding us of times long past. Heck, that's why we take them lol. We want to be reminded that we weren't Always what we are today. You need to put this poem in the pile of good ones you've written. The only thing wich bothers me is the use of that $10 word cryptomnesia. yOU MIGHT CONSIDER PUTTING A NOTATION WITH DEFINITION TO SAVE WEAR AND TEAR ON THUMBS AND DICTIONARIES LOL.........DAMN! I apparently accidentallt hit the caps lock key.

I spent the first 30 years of them scurrying to the two volume Oxford Dictionary every time I didn't know a word.
Now, on the the internet there is no excuse whatsoever, good dictionaries are a click away.

Actually the word used in this poem can be spelt different ways with slightly different meaning, which is one of the reasons I used it.

I like and admire your no-nonsense approach to style, and the succinctness achieved... The raison d'etre of each piece is clear.
I like "what" you write about, as well!

the only question here is grammatic : cryptomnisic vs.cryptomnisia?

I like the title also, don't know why, just do!

I'll look into the punctuation, it doesn't work without any however it could be improved.

Great to see you back, mate, hope is all is well. You have been conspicuous by your absence the last couple of months.

Love the new tagline!
