It's 6am
our Spaniel yawns
and pads softly
scratches and whines
his needs override
mine
he escapes effortlessly
I'm trapped in bleary
ablution
tea and toast the
usual solution
bubbles swirling inside me
wrapped in fleece
I sit like a bloated
furry animal
the dog nestles
sensing
kinship
I sip peppermint tea
in lady-like fashion
with a curly-haired dog
on my knee
A waft of malodorous
emission
I sip my tea
and blame the dog
he raises a paw
to his nose
sniffing me
Abandoned
my hirsute companion
vanishes like Houdini
I remain virtuous
Seeking revenge
my noble hound
defecates
on my herb patch
I drink more tea
enigmatically...

Hi Lonnie
Belated Happy New Year to you! It's snowing in England today....so the country has ground to a halt! Bearing in mind we always get snow in the UK at some point in the winter it amazes me that we're always so unprepared for the disruption! I've lived in the States and we'd regularly get 20-30 ft at a time...So I've got time to reply to everyone's comments today!
Glad I gave you a 'lift'...women aren't supposed to burp ,fart, swear & sweat...but we do...I'm sure even the Queen let's one 'rip' sometimes...Corgis are useful for something I guess!

the hound might do a PP on the leaves of your mint,
that you so thoughtfully drink.
Never mind there is another hole in its behind
so be more careful with your tea
Just make sure its not Brown and lumpy, La La
I will drink Coffee if I visit thee
because I have never seen a pooch climb a Coffee Tree
He He It's Ian.T, A thoughtful write from thee..
PS:- I never drink that special coffee from around the far East just incase there's a cat thats had a feast..
What Am I Going To Drink Now?
Hahahaahhaah Ian...If I thought closely about everything I eat & drink, I'm not sure I'd survive! Thanks for commenting.

I miss those rich Tesco Beef Burgers La La, Have a lovely white day here
Take care if you venture out, can't think of what the fuss is about we use to go to Canada in the winter to do Icing trials on Helicopters, and loved the temps of minus 30 and the feets of snow LOL Have a lovely day at home, Yours Ian.T
PS:- forgot to say I use to go from Marlborough Rd in Southampton to Boscombe Down up past Salisbury to work and sometimes when there was snow I would arrive there yet two miles down the road someone would ring in to say they couldn't make it because of the weather. LOL
As Queen Victoria said "I am
As Queen Victoria said "I am not amused." As her lap dog peed on her skirt.
In the beginning I could see the lapdogs of Marie Antoinette, and her ladies maids,
and your inevitable little finger pointing towards the ceiling as you sipped
so elegantly, your peppermint tea. That should have been strong enough
to drown all pongs, but it did not. This poem is a painting, I can see the whole
thing, with you dressed up to fit the role- perhaps in a modern manner full of
rings in your nose, etc. belts and flounces of unknown fabrics, making you into
a kind of collage, the dog jealously 'promps'(N) and you ignore him.
Enjoyed, BettyBuff love Ann
