I dry my tears in my eyes
and throw my wish lists away
the flowers dazzling with brilliance
brighten up the dull sky...
Gold chrysanthemum, red spider-lilies
and even stardust!
They bloom and dazzle, and then fade
and-oh! They bloom again
Just like the flowers of the earth!
I wonder why they have to be so beautiful
And yet, short-lived.
If they could only bloom much longer,
Maybe they will shame the meaning of life's happiness...

the sad thing about beauty is
the sad thing about beauty is that in most cases it is short lived and soon forgotten. This was simple in it's meaning, but remember, that very same beauty has a life cyle and will be back to flash it's excellence once again,
Hi Gardenia
I like the denouement most of all... shame the meaning of life's happiness. Very eloquently put and its new. Innovation in poetry is crucial but hard to do.

Just like the Aurora Borealis
And some people go to see it in the north, those ephemeral magic lights that swathe the sky, I have seen them in Oslo in turquoises and blues, purples and greens, and also in the Valdres area of Norway where there was a crown at the centre and hanging radially from it curtains of light, they were only golden coloured, but very impressive was the formation.
I feel you are seeing through your tears, and through the petals of the flowers, the unreal world becomes real, an illusion of happiness that you wish to last forever.
Love Ann.
Exactly
You got me there! I am a natural escapist who tends to run away from reality and find tranquility somewhere beyond other people's reach. And indeed, I find great solace there.
It's a dream of mine to see that ephemeral wonders of nature that beautifies the sky. I've seen it on pictures but seeing the real thing is incomparable and the feeling you can get is genuine.

spring arrival of hope
the winters dissolving
I watch fireworks from afar
knowing they were invented for joy
but beneath the science is mans
lust for war
Rockets roar
the detonations felt through the floor
and yet the dazzle of them
like the constellations and bright
planet jewels when all is calm
are undeniably brilliant
and more the pain if one is seeking
another to share
an arm about oneself watching the
granduer of colours
spring blooms on walks
when in nature the cycle of love
is in the air
tears
precipitate
falling like
dissolving stars
jewels
loosened
from crowns
Thank You!
Such a lovely poem
Such a lovely poem with a much darker view of "fireworks". Your masterpiece reminds me of Anna Akhmatova.
Completely different but the point of views are quite alike. Finding beauty in destruction is indeed spectacular despite being a paradox.
Thank you for sharing this with me!
