1AM, It's a New Year

Just a few hours more
about half a day for the rest
for each timezone on the globe
we tear off the last sheet of our calendars
and sixty minutes after midnight
into the new year we find ourselves
at the doorstep of 1AM
the First Year After Maya
Happy New Year to each one
take this gift as a new leash on life
Your world has not ended, yet
And there is much still to be and do!

About This Poem

Last Few Words: Another year about to end. Maybe the Mayans that made up that calendar had it better. As the year closes one is pressed to look back and gauge how it went. It's just another year, perhaps. Many things have transpired, and many more inthe offing.

Review Request Intensity: I appreciate moderate constructive criticism

are but a tangible symbol of patronage and the weight of a puppeteer's leaden hand. After all, the tongue-pen would be the strongest muscle in the human body. hahahaha... I am glad that pressure is not upon my shoulders and I have no qualms about not bettering this one. I know that sounds bad in a site like this. The pressure I would submit to is an internal one and not issuing from the dictates of others. The internal impetus is the Muse's wicked alter ego, methinks!
