A TAILLESS COW

Who drives away the buzzing flies?
From a lonely calf without tail
When the wounds are open and sore
With no helping hand of shepherds
It must graze like others to live
Green grasses cover the meadow
Houseflies, tsetse flies and lean wasps
Hurry to the nibbling beings
Those with tails swung high and low
To attack, protect and to kill
Driving away the intruders
Who bring, with them, sickness and death
Spreading infections while they nosh
The tailless stands defenselessly
Seemingly tough and immune
Nature gave it indifference

A Tailless Cow is a clear cut wording poem
that takes one straight to the imagery of a cow farm
and then hits one hard with the reality of pain we suffer
which we have very little to do in other to find relief.

In my village there is an awkward saying that: "God drives away
the flies of a tailless cow." I think this saying is significant to interpreting your
poem which simply includes the intervention of benevolence in some
situation where we're found wanting. bless.

That this reflects the humon's restless plight of having to stand and be eaten with the reality of this Today..
Helpless audience watch as the good guy/girl is cut down for no reason other than they haven't the right things to protect them.
I would rather that Food and Vaccinations and a good water supply to start with would be a good Tail to stick on the Calf, a good piece of writing needs a little more,

Even the Government of our beloved country seems helpless in the face of Boko Haram terror, bombing of the innocents on almost daily basis has become the order of the day with no end on sight.

The inability of most people to get the basic things of life resulting from unemployment and bad governace producess tailless cows.

so many humans are 'tailless' - without the ability to protect ourselves against those of society who cause hurt and destruction...
i really like your analogy
well written
