Self-loathing is Inevitable

Well it appears I'm in arrears
the economy's to blame,
the government is in cahoots
as they re-invent the game.

It's said, no man's an island
that it takes a village to raise a child,
then there's the next generation
sewing oats that are way more wild!

There's the finance institutions,
the banks, and wall street....too;
using smoke and mirrors, they do thier thing
to line the pockets of the few;

you see, history repeats itself
but, any which way we turn;
we can see whose really pulling the strings
however, never...do we learn!

We're encouraged to just be ourselves
yet measured by how we act,
the eclectically wealthy eccentrics
don't actually believe in that fact.

Every rule and regulation,
plus the promises we've made,
along with blind faith, and hope
begin wilting, and finally fade.

We're turning into "sheeple"
our actions equal "legacy",
but, our expectations will always
end up dissappointing you, and me;

we entered this world screaming
so, the future we must've seen;
because, our collective intuitions
displayed reality....way, too lean!

I guess we've finally come "full circle"
intact integrety's a must;
cling "fast", to what takes your breath away
just before you return to dust!
