Come bring me your berries,
Your plums, your cherries,
Bring me your applesauce,
Carvings and Chairs,
Bring me your paintings,
Your sculptures and wares.
Come with me and grow,
To barter, to trade,
Whats fresh and beaded,
And fancied with braid,
Come join me and start,
To save and begin,
This is a war,
We all can win
Buy from your neighbor,
Have built by your brothers,
Start eating fresh bread,
That's baked by your mothers.
Stop buying commercial,
Their fortune will come,
Make yourself wealthy,
With what you could have done.
Wake up my neighbors,
My fellows, my kin,
It's time to wake up!
It's time to begin!

I LIKE IT!
I REALLY enjoyed this poem! For various reasons, this poem grabs my attention. Thank you for sharing!
PRECIOUS
thank you
a little something to wake up the conciousness we have naturally but ignore greedily.

I am coming right now to join
I am coming right now to join you Tommi,
and what a wonderful way to wake us up.
I love the mixture you have in the first verse,
quite a dish! As we saunter along, looking at all
the grand variety of bits and bobs from the past
in the junk stores of the streets.
This reminds me of walking into an English country market,
where the wares are shouted out,
sixpence bananas repeated
come and buy my red apples,
"Come and buy my sweet red roses
only two for a penny." Do you hear the song?
I know where you are going with this,
but those whose ears you wish to prick up,
are deaf. I agree, we should change the whole
philosophy of life and find a happier one for all,
but............!
We used to sing rounds as a family specially on the way to a holiday,
This one was subtle in sound:-
Cameroonian round
White sand and grey sand,
who will buy white sand
who will buy my grey sand.
One coming in after the other with the tune was fascinating.

Dear Tommi,
You have an eloquent pen! I couldn't agree more or have said it better! Love your effortless rhyming and the flow from line to line and verse to verse. You Tell 'Um Girl!!! My favorite lines:
Stop buying commercial,
Their fortune will come,
Make yourself wealthy,
With what you could have done.
Wake up my neighbors,
My fellows, my kin,
It's time to wake up!
It's time to begin!
always, Cat
thank you all
@Nordic cloud that was exactly what I was thinking of. The market in Spain when i was young. I'm so glad to grab your attention as I intended. @Cat we seem to be in sync on most topics it's so refreshing to know that everyone can see as i see.
