WHEN ALL YOUR WALLS COME TUMBLING DWN
Who gave me a heart
that breaks so easily
and a soul
by the only name I know
that bleeds too deeply
in a body now frail
and old.
Who gave me eyes
that see too clearly
and a mind
blind to its own deceptions
And what does it take
to keep a heart from dying
when all your walls
come tumbling down.

AFFLICTION
You taught me
not how to die
but how to live.
to know a reason to be
that belongs to me
alone
never to understand the mystery
but to live the journey
until the stilling of the heart
At times you amaze me
and make me wonder
if you are ill at all
or you just want all walls to fall
and
read your poetry after all
you are the poet here
we know
and
do teach us more if at all
finally you do go ..
we shall meet you again
of that be sure
and
that Loved may lead your way
of that none can be too sure...
My illness has taught me not
My illness has taught me not t fear death and never waste one mment of livng..My poetry was -- is -- my confrontation with myself. It takes passing into and through the dark before we can "see"Very few uderstood that and missed those small "small sparks" that were tryng to catch fire.
thanks, my friend
you sure have a
solid gold
iron and steel
combined
MIND
"and a mind
"and a mind
blind to its own deceptions"
Those lines fascinate me.

Dies Irae
the final coming home
arrival
easter soon
saw women that looked like my ex's
throughout the shopping trip
the sun slanting down on its cold
clarity snowed earlier
listening now to Gregorian chants
hence the title
a brand new air conditioner from
china at the front door inside
groceries to last a few weeks
and a mind full of questions
and a body scarred
emotions charred
yes still we survive
eased back or gritting
teeth
our map of wonder of it all
etched on us
tasting the beauty of the bitterness
of love
I have no doubt you have lived Joe
non at all and that you still live
as you write
Thank You
I am Mediterranean blue
I am Mediterranean blue
melancholy
gypsy fire
cooled by passing Nordic winds.
I am fire and ice.
