EARLY DECEMBER

The world long 'fore I was even born
on a tropic December morn
that gave not even slightest hint
of how our world would soon be rent

In the distance Zeroes roar
on their way to grisly chore
to release the dogs of war
upon a distant peaceful shore

In the instant ere the bombs dropped
leading to so many hearts stopped
the sun shone so clear and bright
upon both the wrong and right

If they knew what we know now
would they have turned back somehow ?
to save their cities from mushrooms
and thus forestalled so many dooms ?

How would the world be today
had all of them just turned away ?
I guess that we will never know
I can not help but wonder though

Indeed.

Though we can't turn back the clocks (unless there is a parallel universe in which it is possible), I wonder if the powers that be, consider such things.

Love.

I expect they worry too much about being re-elected to think of much else including those they are supposed to represent...........scribbler

Stan Scribbler!
You were born on 21st December 1945
At dawn
That makes you a
Capricorn -Sagittarius cusp born

As the morn of your dawn
Was on the 20 Th December
If the sun be
On the tropic of Capricorn
When Hiroshima had
Stormy mushrooms
There wasn't any place to hide
No place to hide
No place to hide
The day I shall tell you
In just a moment
Just going out
On a sledge ride!

Thanks for reminding us how war effects everything and everyone in some way. Even if they don't know it. War is Hell. My uncle Denny faught in the trenches. He never talked about it. For a interesting read. Look up the back up plan to the atomic bomb. "bat bombs" Take Care. huey

I am aware of the bat bomb plan. What is odd to me is that the atomic bombs get all the attention although more people died in fire bombing...........scribbler
