I Paged the Gods Because I Am Stuck on that Page !

I spied a dainty bruise
powdered away, by a vacant stare,
another pair of pale white elephants
get to prove that they're not there.

Empathy, is probably
that word I'm searcing for,
heros never get the chance to leave
except in times of war.

Great, are my expectations!
Overly zealous, are my dreams!
Do the rest get off scott-free?
Should be a law, or so it seems.

Best of my recollectons
everytime I've shed a tear,
consequnces were dankly ugly
and, that was all that was crystal clear!

Understanding that the universe
shouldn't revolve around just me,
everytime I've seen dreams come true
I've witnessed serendipity!

At best, fate's certainly smiled on some
more than it did for other,
sure, neither situation's dumb
they don't ask for anyone's druthers.

Unless there had been some windfall
could you imagine their surprise?
Kind of like seeing yourself
often looking into your lover's eyes.

Now, exacty what I'm saying
to the throngs whose ears prick up,
have I not spent my years paying?
And, haven't I drank from my own cup?

Too bitter, have been it's contents
perhaps too sweet, as well;
although I am proud to have drank it
guess I thought, it wouldnt have been in hell!
