Fruit bowl…
Ornate these oranges placed beside
apples and grapes, on a well
polished table while people die,
from need.
But fret not, the polish has
dust rings around a rose bowl
that it may hunt and clear,
with speed.
Tidy or untidy houses with
sloping roofs, that all matter
slides free, elucidates our
clean slate.
A ramshackle tented village
has flat roofs, to catch
whatever comes there,
still they wait.
Here well fed children kill,
acting out computer games
being main man with a
gun or knife,
There emaciated children
have no tools to kill or
live, still they
cling to life.

I've always hated still-life paintings
and wanted them to say something worthwhile. If that was your intent you succeeded admirably. It also says much more, without losing a certain ephemeral poetic quality. This is the kind of poem that will touch different people in different ways. I look forward to other interpretations.
Elegantly written, no suggestions.
Thank you,
Thank you Jess, i just think we have so much more than we really need. If we wanted to i'm sure we could make peoples lives better in poorer countries. We waste so much of what could probably save them, if governments had the will to step in. Regards Roscoe..
Wars are...
fought for many reasons. "They" tell you, that the main reasons are to bring the wealth of peace and health to starving children. "We" kill in the name of religion, philanthropy, and hidden agendas. What if we stopped killing, and just brought food and shelter? I liked the [to me] subtle rhyming. ~ Gee
I agree,
I agree they always say lets fight the good fight, but how often do we do it. Thank you for your thoughts on this. Regards Roscoe...
