AND PITY, PITY

© Cyrus Dali Vesuvala

I don’t need your fucking pity:

Haven't yet lost all my pride-

I don’t need your damned charity:

All I ever asked for was your time.

If my loving you makes you think you're stronger,

And has caused me to drop some, in your sight-

If you think you can keep me hanging on indefinitely longer-

Baby, you just haven't earned that right.

Whatever other rights you might have acquired,

Whatever other people you might think you own,

If you think you've got me strung and wired,

This might come as some surprise, but you don’t!

So you see, I don’t need to know your pity,

Nor your reason nor your rhyme,

I don’t need no one's charity,

And now, baby, I don’t even need your time…

I like it the poem or song if it is so needs a bit of a tad work but wanted to stop in and say hello. Glad you are still writing and would love to hear your spoken word once again. Hope all is well by you and nice rant you have going on. Pity pity have none for nitty..lol good job... I do agree as pity is pittless and who needs it or better wants it. I like your ending line here writer

Hey Mona,
Thank you for stopping by.
Since you asked, you can hear this one at http://tinyurl.com/pity-pity.
Gotta warn you tho, the recording is somewhat ...raw... the wailing lead guitar work intended as a metaphor to mirror the angst in the lyric.
Definitely not my comfort zone...
