Actually I love all the seasons and live in an area that is resplendent with (SAD) Seasonal Affective Disorder.
However, the days grow longer after 12/21.
Besides, you'd have to live here for most of your life, like I have, to really claim yourself as a winter aficionado. Ha!

Yah, I know about SAD. So does the rather large bank of lights I spend 2 hours a day under, between December and March, heehee.
Days growing longer: Yule is my favorite rite, and winter solstice always finds me facing East at dawn.
