It is common to hear
Amongst the people here
Such unspeakable words
‘My mother is a witch’
They go ahead to say
Things hard to believe
Accept it or not
I know what I am saying
Instances are drawn
To affirm and to confirm
The mother stands guilty
As accused by wagging tongues
Days before our second baby
My mother saw something
That was in a dream
A baby in bathing water
With its face downward
Thereafter, we had a still born
The third
a surviving premature boy
At seven lost all the womb fluid
Survived without it for seven days
Expert physicians
Dismayed, declared
Never seen such a thing
In clinical history
But missed transmission
To Guinness books
A feat made possible
By prayers alone
Electrolytic transfusion
A successful regular regeneration
Suffered a setback
Seen in retrospect
When a witch mother
Crying out at night
It is said
She begged the council of witches
Not to take the wife of her only son
Three days after, my wife
My beloved passed on
I was warned
Not to give my mother money
Directly
Without praying into it
I did otherwise
My business went down
Besieged by accusers
My mother came running
She said
People called her a witch
So son
Please help me to find out
Am I really a witch?
Talk like this about witches
Is common here
All our failures
Mistakes and shortcomings
Bucks passed to the potency
The spells of witches
What we ignore
The genetic state of affairs
The natural order
In material world
But run to the spirit
We know not
To buy superstition
To fill our homes
With junks

A agree with Lonnie,
some judicious editing is in order. "Poetry is compression of meaning, the ruthless elimination of the innessential." The wordiness detracts from the emotional impact.
Also, personally, I would like to see an element of redemption here. How to deal with this social scapegoating of women?
While I was reading this, I
While I was reading this, I almost screamed OMG!!! you also know of such things#mouth open#...I also agree with Lonnie that it is long however your poem is only touching on a quater of things people say when coming to that subject.
