Writing With Emotions

I have e-mailed Chrys as to when we start and I haven't heard anything back yet. Which is very unusual because she is very promt with her communications. I am somewhat worried.

I am going to postpone the start date of this workshop until I can contact Chrys.

I'll probably start it again on Monday, but will announce it officially tomorrow, in hope that Chrys can be contacted.

i do appreciate what you are saying and feel due to luke warm responses of members to poems posted on stream...it could be due to ongoing vacations and holiday season in the West...as for the workshop on emotions as you must have read from comments above Chrys seems to be unreachable and we shall wait till we hear from her hopefully soon to know she is fine...and then know about how she plans to go about operating this workshop...having said that i too have observed and feel concerned that there is a kind of inertia creeping in...

I recieved an e-mail from Chrys's daughter. It seems she is having difficulty with her internet service provider. She will be having eye surgery at the end of the month, too.
I look to Dan (Hooded Stranger) as to how to proceed.

Dear All

I did hear the final call from Chrys for jumping into the Olympic pool workshop and had to quickly string together a poem about the first of the several emotions on the Menu...however last night (india time) i couldn't post it because Neopoet Server was being moved ...i am submitting "Mango Tree" in stream since Chrys has advised not to submit it under workshop....

i have been commenting on poems submitted by others...

it seems you did not read my comment on my poem page of "Mango Tree" that i shall not be writing for now but will be absorbing the writes of the others as a learning experience since there is a feed back that the quality of my writing has slumped a great deal...i have taken it positively without any hard feelings...

Dear Chrys,

I just posted my sorrow poem. I'm unclear on the final step. I wrote a poem containing all the emotions,but I understand that is not what you want. Do you want us to cut and paste all the poems together as one poem?

Now this one (the final act) is a toughie but i have a hunch that Cat will piece one up skillfully...its like making a collage piecing together bits and pieces from all poems posted thus far ....

Objectives:To write using emotions,so the reader can feel them

Level of expertise: Open to all

Subject matter:writing workshop
Syllabus

Olympic Pool Workshop:
Using Emotions In Writing

Goal: To use an emotion that the reader can identify without naming the emotion

Learning how to write with emotions felt everyday

We will take the most prominent emotions:
Love,Hate,Anger,Fear and Envy(or jealousy), sorrow
Write a poem about each
HOWEVER You cannot use the words in the poem
Each emotion will be a separate poem

Culminating in one poem using all of the emotions:again the words love , hate etc cannot be used in the poem
We will take one emotion at a time
Post the poem in the stream. Please be sure to indicate(tab) that it is a workshop submission

At the end of the workshop you should be able to write an emotional poem that the reader can feel and identify with. Without the reader being told what the poem is about

Open to all. Limit of ten participants
Please note Only join our workshop if you are ready to commit to a 14 day workshop.
