London's oppressive heat...

London’s oppressive heat….

Birds they’re all eating dog shit
policemen taking in illegal pay
Politicians set the town ablaze
with things they do and say.

The kids they try to rule the streets
bricks masks and a lot of indignation
But me I haven’t a thing to fear
I’m living safe in my own coruscation.

Continuous noise of sirens wailing
firemen and coppers race to flame
Don’t care if they’re all off jailing
something not someone, is to blame.

The cake is not quite cut so even
pieces weighing down gentlemanly palate
What about those hungry street kids
no one dares bring themselves to relate.

Hungry not for food or coin of realm
recognition is what I say they scream
Take a look they say loud and clear
where’s our audition, where’s our dream.

Did we not amuse you as we grew
you’s off chasing money keeping a landlord sweet
No lines of silly talk, those games of fun
or loving times to make our family complete

Weren’t we meant for something else
it looks so easy for the stars of screen
Did we get left at hell’s starting gate
will we ever be heard, ever be seen…

About This Poem

Last Few Words: The riots we had here inspired this one, they're going to hammer these kids. This is just my take on it....

This poem is written with the raw emotions and done well. I too have watched the horror in London the last weeks and can only hope and pray all out London friends are okay. It is terrible and it happens here also in America. Young folk not knowing what the heck they are doing.

Great write Roscoe

Thank you Mona, i think as long as we have society riven with class this is always likely to happen. If you have kids with the feeling that no matter how hard they try, the people on top will always be the same people. You have the ingredients for dissorder. Love Roscoe..
