Flyboy And The Mechanic

with so much bravado

"blow it out your asses
you niggling little dimwits"

that's exactly what he said

"by the seat of your pants,
the only way to fly"

I bailed

he crashed
dissing the world and its ways
one too many times

what a guy!

it was an ordinary funeral

Damn, Al. This is so f***ing good! I had to read it by the title alone. The poem did perfect justice.

Thanks for sharing this one!

are you sure! I don't want to be blushing with pride when you decide to reconsider your comment...that would be cruel...someting I can't imagine coming from you!

and so, a big thank you from me to you.

with great admiration and simple affection,

Eduardo Cruz

what a great write, lving by the seat of your pants, then crash. I love it I did that for many year in the sixties and seventies. Now I live holding on to dear life with my chute fully opened. (i was an airborne ranger)

what a statement this write makes,
simplicity at its best!

I am glad this struck a chord with you...isn't that why we read, looking for something, anything that hits home, making us think, reflect, laugh or cry, discover, recognize, rethink, entertain, or enlighten us....sometimes it's just the smallest or simplist thing that can do that!

thanks Eddie
