all things shall pass away
but one seed of love,
from it grows every tree of life,
the feel of ecstasy
in the green velvet
of Om.

About This Poem
Last Few Words: Thank you Ian & Kal (almost forgot you. tsk tsk) for the inspiration. It seems my new poems are inspired by individuals. http://www.flickr.com/photos/austenspace/3585931206/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/hurleygurley/5134027/lightbox/

Om is Sanskrit for the
Om is Sanskrit for the *primordial sound*. (In the beginning was the Word...)
You are right on the money, Xena.
I pasted the *symbol* below my poem. The colour green is that of loving-kindness, compassion that the Buddhist *Green Tara symbolizes. It is the energy of the heart that when released, spreads like wildfire.

I don't chant. Except for
I don't chant. Except for that Om that keeps on keeping on in my head.
Nice 2cu Lonnie.

Very true, Anna,
Very true, Anna,
We are indeed all connected back by the web of Life to the Begining... to that one point in evolution when life as we know it, started on earth.
A humbling thought, one which makes me realise how insignificant our petty concerns and quarrels are, in the big picture of life.
Thank you for sharing this one.
And... though you didnt go anywhere... good to see you back here.

Anna
Enjoyed that. There was a similar presentation that did the rounds a while back called the "12 steps" or something like that. It started from a close view of a bush in a backyard and then pulled the vieew out by 10 meters, then 100 m, then 1000 m and so on. By the 12th step one is a billion km away and the earth is not even a dot on the screen then.
shows us how very insignificant we are!

Anna, love the feel of this
Anna, love the feel of this but perhaps I might suggest a slight change?
all things shall pass away
but from one seed
of love,
grows every tree of life.
Oh, the feel of ecstasy
in the green velvet
of Om.
Although my eldest girl is nicknamed Omi, it is her sister who I've om'd to more often, she loves it as do I :) much love to you dear Anna xxx
Glad you got the *feel* Beki.
Glad you got the *feel* Beki. And thanks for the suggestion. I do prefer to keep the poem in its more simple form.

Are you taking the piss?
Either I am getting this very very wrong or you are 1) getting back to very basics. Or 2) Dropping a few profoundish catchphrases to take the piss out of Neopoet members who comment sincerely.
all things shall pass away
but one seed of love,
from it grows every tree of life,
the feel of ecstasy
in the green velvet
of Om.
If this is sincere, then it really is very good.
"If this is sincere, then it really is very good."
Wow! That opens a can of worms on both poetry and critique, eh!
Ahh... the frenzy begins dear
Ahh... the frenzy begins dear Elf?
Let's just say, my life is all about spirals. No matter how far I may seem to be out of touch with the simple basics of life: light and love, no matter how far or often I am * taken out of the sangha* by dealing with reality and those issues that are divisive (at their centers, exclusionary but held as principles, albeit without the conscious awareness that is absolutely imperative to grok what these principles are actually espousing), I round the bend.....return to the love that fulfills itself just by being alive.
It's all experience. And we can always choose love.
Does that answer your question?

I loved your reply more than the poem
So great to "hear" your lucid ponderings.
The Tree of Life is a symbol
The Tree of Life is a symbol of many religions. YES, Ian! The undercurrent, the energy of life IS LOVE...the more we give it away, the more it replenishes itself. Kinda neat, eh?

p.s. I too, grow orchids although since I moved and I don't have the garden window any more, this year they did not bloom. ;-(
Anna
this write has a very serene glow like a pearl...perhaps you may want to change Om to Aum..
surely you must be knowing this line.."Aum has over a thousand meanings..one of them is welcome to the Gods"... you have added one more meaning to Aum in the form of "ecstasy in the green velvet of Om"/...
For me Aum is something that
For me Aum is something that one chants. The Om is something that is heard if one is silent in their being.
Much like the om of *h om e*. ;-)

hmmmmmm ok...both have a
hmmmmmm ok...both have a resonance
Indeed. In order to *hear*,
Indeed. In order to *hear*, one has to *listen*. But to feel what one hears..............like the mastercard commercial: priceless!
