A delusional love (A song for my lady)

How could a man like me
Ever understand
What you were giving me
When I was thinking only
Of myself

The physical you
Is the ultimate pleasure
A man like me
Can ever pray for
But I didn't realize
That what you were giving
Was beyond truth
It was your realness

It can't be possible
That what I am feeling
Is the delusions
Of a fevered mind

The addiction of you
Was bigger than
The Himalayas
All the spiritual love
You gave was wasted
On my fever mind
Not even the Dali lamas'
Heightened state could penetrate

Even though
it didn't enter my brain
You kept trying
You saw something in me
I did not
Can it be you’re addicted too?

It can't be possible
That what I am feeling
Is the delusions
Of a fevered mind

Maybe I was not the one for you
Yet I feel after the fact
That you're still the one for me
Am I delusional?
Thinking such a thing
But baby you are real to me
You took me to places
I have never been

The pounding of my heart
Can be heard miles away
And I believe
You can hear it too
For even from this distance
I can feel and sense you
Next to me

It can't be possible
That what I am feeling
Is the delusions
Of a fevered mind

If there is such a thing
As forever
Then that's where I will wait
There is no one
Who can ever fill the place
In this delusional
Mind of mine where I keep you
safe

Go, be free
Fly upon your spirit wings
For you are that rare
free butterfly
That few have the chance to see
And yet,
once I held you next to me
And I felt free

It can't be possible
That what I am feeling
Is the delusions
Of a fevered mind

Now once again
I've heard the magic of your voice
I can see what you see
The love I have for you
Deep inside of me
Like a bee to the nectar
I go darting straight to you
Only you have the power
To make me feel free

This is not the ranting
Of a delusional mind
But the truth of your realness
That I've come to realize
Is what I need to quell
The fever of my
Delusional mind
The refreshing reality that is you
Rings in my mind like a church bell
And I can hear the angels sing

It can't be possible
That what I am feeling
Is the delusions
Of a fevered mind

It can't be possible
That what I am seeing
Is a delusion

Oh how well I can relate to this poem it describes the feeling I too have experienced exactly, exactly, exactly.
You take us through the sensed passages of time with your love and we are there at each beat of your heart.

Love to you you sensitive man, Ann of Norway.

Incredible write:

This is not the ranting
Of a delusional mind
But the truth of your realness
That I've come to realize
Is what I need to quell
The fever of my
Delusional mind
The refreshing reality that is you
Rings in my mind like a church bell
And I can hear the angels sing

An honest love poem without all the mush that usually goes into them. A lovely write!

always, Cat

p.s.

I believe this is so well done. My struggle is always with titles, but this one is really quite clever. This is wonderful, you weave reality with poetry so very well.

Eduardo Cruz

My writing of poetry comes from my actual realities. It works best for me, because the imagies are real in my head. As far as titles, i believe it's the headache of us all. What I do is this; a poem starts in my head, and as soon as it does I think what am I trying to convey here, then the title comes from there I begin to write. Well that's just me, we all have different ways of working the process. you have to find yours. maybe take a little from everyone and make it yours.
thank you for the read,
Eddie

Eddie,

great piece, I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said about it...other than...it is way too long as a song...you might need to compact it a little.

Still a great poem/song,

regards,

HS
