If you are a starving poet
And don’t have enough to eat
There’s a special kind of program
That’s design to help you cheat
If you have writer’s block
And lost all inspiration
Artificial intelligence
Is better than self insemination
AI has supplanted our souls
Like a weak and bloodless heart
Hardening the arteries
Artifice fucked up our art
So come meet your new assistant
Here to help you plagiarize,
Let me thieve some precious words
Like a genius in disguise
Does this signal the end
Our last collective breath,
A technocratic assassin
To lead us to creative death.

Artificiality
The truth, no doubt! I loved this and I have decided to write what "I" feel. In words that I am accustomed to. About things that
weigh heaviest on my mind.
Thank you Leslie
I have seen the future and it is not AI. Poets of the world unite and take arms up against a sea of internet robots and thereby end them, keep writing, creating and sharing your thoughts and feelings.
I am...
anxious to see how our AI reacts to this piece!
I wonder if it will lament the loss of creative inspiration as you have here.
Or will it defend itself and brethren from the slings and arrows of misguided persons?
A funny; but at the same time, serious consideration.
The title has impact, in that it directly calls out the act of using A.I. as a crutch for originality.
Your language use is good, and the internal logic is great. I've already said that the theme is intriguing.
Good job! ~ Geezer.

Thank you Geezer
I'm expecting the usual robotic response about lack of adverbs or irregular rhymes, AI has not quite grasped the idea of irony and never will as long as it is a machine, luckily we still have humans who can have a bit of fun with poetry, glad the theme and words appealed to you.
Quite an interesting subject,
Quite an interesting subject, but it is not just AI; technology is pushing its revolution, and the slow pace of human evolution leaves us somewhat adrift.
Tyro
And...
just "who" is technology? We are demanding more and more from our machines; in the interest of leaving us to have more time doing nothing. We have delegated them to take over, but be our new slaves; after all, they are just machines, so we can subjugate them in any way we wish, right? Let's not be in too much of a hurry to make them 'human'. We might find we don't like it. ~ Geez.

A very thought provoking piece
Yes indeed - I agree with you...Artificial Intelligence involved with any form of writing or publication is a big concern I have as well. Our current technological age makes it way too easy to imitate the works of others while it robs the artist and/or author of due recognition for his or her work. It also robs the art itself of free thought, artistic expression and creative thinking. Very respectively to the AI program on this website - I do not always agree with some of the critique responses it gives to the poems that I have submitted on this site as it tries to persuade me to make changes (either by word replacement or by line addition/expansion) which would result in changing the overall intent of the poem as well as possibly redirect the reader to a different final message or experience from the poem. This is a big censorship no-no in my humble opinion regarding editing. Grammatical corrections are one thing but content change that adds to or takes away from the poet's artistic/creative expression and intent is another. Anyway... I enjoyed your poem very much with its rhyme, meter and timely message. Well done.
Thank you for commenting
Glad it provoked some thought, inspires a few thoughts.
Personally I would pay no attention to AI on here, it is just a machine that churns out some generic replies to most people's work, you don't have to include a critique, it'd possible to opt out , unticking AI box. On many other online poetry sites AI is becoming a concern to many writers, who have to write a disclaimer about AI. There will always be genuine people and the other kind, who want to look clever but are dishonest. Hopefully there is more of the former on this neo poet site.
The AI...
here, is not allowed to write for you. It can only give advice and criticism. You will have to go somewhere else to take advantage of a program that will write for you. ~ Geezer.
