Mindful

The clock whispers
the seconds.

My heart speaks nearly
in the same rhythm.

Two separate poems ~
resting together.

resting together, makes for an interesting view. I think of the poems lying there together after struggling to be born. Nestled together with their mother [writer], they look different, but have the same parent. Nice, ~ Geez.

I really like your interpretation! I have been reading "The Poetry of Impermanence, Mindfulness and Joy." It's an anthology of poems by various wonderful poets touching on those subjects. Very thought provoking and encouraging.
Thank you, again, for reading!

I will find and read that book of poems. Thank you. ~ Geez.

Your poems are really thought provoking. Two separate poems...I am thinking that is applicable to our hearts and brains..what one wants, the other may agree to whether it has its doubts..much like the clock and heart...beat in time almost seamlessly yet so differently. Well done.

I like your interpretation, too! Actually it was just a quiet moment before fading off when I became aware that the clock by my bed and my heartbeat weren't too far off from each other. My last thought that night before falling asleep.
Thanks for reading! I always appreciate your ideas!

Loved the poem. Short, interesting. Our hearts beat in much the same motion that our clocks do.
