Finishing the Farewell

I’m worried about the ashes now,
as I try and make my peace
with dispersing what is left behind.

How will I know which ashes
listened to my troubles?
Which were part of her smile?

All I can really be certain of
is love will cast who she was
over the welcoming sea,
along the North Coast,
where she would want to be.

Hello, Michael,
You've written beautiful poetry before, but this is exceptional. I hope this poem helps with your acceptance.
Again, beautiful.

In the eye of the beholder, makes perfect sense now that I am old enough to appreciate it. Your whole perception of life and its rewards change with the years that pass by. The beauty of this piece is the understanding that comes with the experience of life. We think we know it all... So prayerlike. ~ Geez.

Beautiful imagery of pain and sorrow written here in just three short stanzas. Your last stanza is my favorite. Thank you for this wonderful prose piece.
