TRIBUTE OF PRAISE

Your smile
is a killer
and could
even raise
the dead

You're my
Daystar
that shines
always
in my heart

I'm now fully
charged
ready to
replicate
a unique love
that can't be cloned

each time
I set my eyes
on you
I feel
an irresistible
sensation
that runs through
my veins
as swift as arrows

gazing on your
glamorous eye
I see virtue
and goodness
you're one in a million

The below is a computer generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Tribute of Praise" by Onyinyechi Cosmos Etu is a short yet sweet tribute to someone special. The poet uses vivid imagery and comparisons to convey their feelings towards the subject of the poem.

The first stanza begins with a striking description of the subject's smile as being "a killer" and having the power to "raise the dead." While this may seem like an extreme comparison, it effectively conveys the impact of the subject's smile on the poet. The second stanza continues with the use of comparisons, as the subject is referred to as a "Daystar" that always shines in the poet's heart. This metaphorical language is effective in conveying the depth of the poet's emotions towards the subject.

The third stanza shifts towards the poet's own feelings, as they describe feeling "fully charged" and ready to replicate a love that is unique and cannot be cloned. This suggests that the subject has inspired the poet to feel a sense of renewal and a desire to give love freely. The final stanza returns to descriptions of the subject, with the poet gazing upon their "glamorous eye" and seeing virtue and goodness. The phrase "one in a million" effectively sums up the subject's unique qualities.

One suggested line edit would be to change "I began to feel" to "I feel" in the fifth stanza. This would give the stanza a more immediate and present tense, emphasizing the intensity of the sensation the poet experiences when looking at the subject.

Overall, "Tribute of Praise" is a well-crafted poem that effectively conveys the poet's admiration for someone special. The use of vivid imagery and comparisons adds depth to the poem and makes it an enjoyable read.

I love this sentiment. Love like this is powerful and you’ve got some great metaphors and language. I can’t see anything that needs correction.

Super job

Hi Jackweb, I really loved the language in this poem. If I had to provide criticism I would just recommend a more structured rhyme scheme, as I think the poem could benefit from that but that's just my preference! Thank you for sharing :)

So much for stopping by. I really understand what you mean here. I rhyme when I want to. Is all about how you want the art to be.
