She-wolf calls her mate,
alert to the sounds of him
isolated on the hill.
The age of the wolf
arrives they shall mate then sleep
content in their den.
Rising with the sun,
together they hunt for game
serving up hare death.
She-wolf calls her mate,
alert to the sounds of him
isolated on the hill.
The age of the wolf
arrives they shall mate then sleep
content in their den.
Rising with the sun,
together they hunt for game
serving up hare death.

Dear Cat
I really like the theme but I had a little tweak, I know you are open to suggestions, here are mine
She-wolf calls her mate
*alert* to the sounds of him
*isolated* on the hill
*The age* of the wolf
*arrives* they shall mate then sleep
content in their den
rising in the *sun*
together they hunt for *game*
serving up hare death
as always they are just suggestions of ways you could go, I am a fan of wolves and I found out that the Grey Wolf mates for life, I think that's beautiful.
love ya J xxx
dear Lady Jayne,
this poem about wolves was supposed to be a senryu string. (5-7-5) but it does not have to be ;) I really like your suggestions. I will throw out form for sake of content, lol! thank you... now all I need do is get off my duff and do the work!
*love, Cat
p.s.
I love wolves, too. here, in Wisconsin, we have protested for a preserve to save their habitat. and to stop hunting them before extinction! We signed the petition and made a good sized donation for the cause.
Dear Cat
I am chuffed you like my suggestions. I love wolves, I love many critters though. I'm a sucker for them lol
God I hope you can sort out a preserve, Australian Wolves died out about 3000yrs ago possibly from competition to our dingos. They aren't very big but they can be vicious. Tasmanian Wolves were last seen I think it was around 1930 and the last remaining Tassie Wolf died in captivity in 1936
Love Jayne xxx
dear Jayne,
seems like poor handling of the wolves in captivity. were they allowed to breed? I think it could have been handled better in order to preserve the species. I feel bad when we lose out on their beauty. thanks for telling me this.

*Smiles :)
the work is far from done...hunters tracking them down and murdering them. we have set up monthly donations and the major portion of our will is set up for animals wild and domestic for their protection and survival...we never had children so they are our kids!
*hugs, Cat
Excellent!...
I love the wolf theme. I agree, we should look out for them, they are very close to extinction. A simple piece that goes straight to the point; they were here long before us, and have simple needs, which we should meet with land and water free from contamination and without reserve. Nice job! ~ Geez.
.
thank you Geezer,
I appreciate you reading my poem born of my love for wolves. Seren/Jayne helped me with suggestions for this.

The mentioning
Of were wolf reminds of of 80s, my dad usually watch American Were Wolf. That movie is horrendous in its kind.
Prominent literary piece!
.
Sorry...
this poem is about real wolves, not werewolves. but I'm glad it brought you a good memory!
