Passing By

Time touches all as it passes by -
pages ripped from old calendars
battered shoes beneath the bed
red barns faded to gray
yellow photographs
wrinkled faces
empty fields
sunsets

About This Poem

Last Few Words: This form is called Nonet. It has nine lines - the first line containing nine syllables, the second containing eight and each following line decreasing a syllable until the last line is one syllable. Rhyming is optional, but since it is structured, I listed it as Western. Dunno 'bout that... L

This is called a Nonet, which I had never heard of before and then wanted to try. Nine lines, first line starting with nine syllables and then each following line decreasing by one syllable until the last line is just one syllable long. Time diminishing seemed to be a good subject.
Thank you for reading!
