Mr. Bob
We never know how much time there is
when our stop will come
I wonder if that big old Buick
picked you up when you were done
I'll see you on that beach
walk the shore with you
We'll do all those things
we said that we would do
We will plant ourselves some weed
Have a dozen dogs
Drink some Rolling Rock
burn a bunch of logs
We had dreams of retiring
a garlic farm for funds
just a few more years
then it was time for fun
Weed with the taste of Blueberry
joints the size of cigars
us laughing at the world
in that big red Buick car
But life has its own way of moving
it doesn't follow rules
So, we must take our little treasures
as we pay our dues
Nine years I had my best friend
living right next door
Now I close my blinds
'cause you don't live there anymore

I am so sorry
I know how much Bob meant to you. This is a beautiful tribute to your best friend. Wouldn't change a thing.
Thank you...
he was a good friend, and always treated me fairly, even when we disagreed, [which wasn't often]. We enjoyed many of the same things, and he always had time to listen to a new poem about the neighborhood cats. "The Battle of the Snowplow" as he called it, was one he used to refer to every winter [ Monster Play] It was a true story, and he thought it was funny as hell.

Good friends
Are hard to come by. So glad you had Bob all those years. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything...even an ear to listen.
You are so lucky but for you now I am sorry friend gone...
You are so lucky but for you now I am sorry friend gone...
I since birth had neighbors
friends wild and crocks
they stripped and danced in nude
how
crude I never befriended any
more than a week
so one died last year or so
the replacement is worse
he and his openly blow
so no show
no
sadness if he too goes
oldie guys like bulldogs
Thanks...
Yeah, I hope that I can be friends with the next person that owns his house. If things work out the way I hope, it won't be a problem. ~ Geez.

dearest Geezer,
allow me to join Carrie in saying how sorry I am for your terrible loss. I think your poem really covered your friendship. I am so glad that he went peacefully in his sleep.
*Great Big Hugs, Cat

Thank you so much...
The poem didn't cover near all the things about Bob and me, because we had nine years of solid relationship, but I managed to get the main points. We loved our weed, growing vegetables, the neighborhood cats... Yes, until he went to the hospital at the last, he was in severe pain, but they had him pretty well sedated by the time it was over, and it was a peaceful end.

Bro
A peaceful end is all any of us could want, I am comforted knowing he was looked after. I have over 623 verses of the work I started for my mother years ago. There were never enough lines for me to say what I wanted so I started my Epic. I call it.
I love how honest you were, though the anguish is palpable.
Love and higgliest bugs Sis xxx
Thank you...
I wanted to be honest about my emotions for him. I wanted to let everyone that knew both of us, know that I considered him a great friend and like a brother. I feel that being honest about one's emotions is a good thing; it keeps us grounded and human.

Mr. Bob...
My condolences, Geezer. What a great buddy...

Hey brother
Sorry for your loss. I’m glad you have writing. I think this a touching tribute to your friend. He seemed like a good person whom you had a close connection with. It’s a real bummer for sure. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Dearest Bro
I am so so sorry for your loss, I know how much he meant to you. Those last four lines punched me in the gut. Brilliant poem written with honesty and so much love. I can feel it wafting off the page
Love and Higgliest bugs Sis now and always <3
Thank you...
It was suggested that I leave that last stanza off, but I think I will leave it, it is an honest feeling, I have my blinds open now, but... ~ Geez.

Aww Hon biggest hugs, I been
Aww Hon biggest hugs, I been having a blubber tonight too. I finally started to finish the poem I started for Dad and realised when I looked the time had ticked past midnight it's been 8mths today since I lost my Dad. I'm so broken
But thanks to him I get to meet my bug brother <3
Love you higgliest bugs now & always <3
Sorry sir
For your loss. I understand the feelings. Sometimes a good neighbor is better than a brother or a sister.
I would drop the "'cause" (last line) for a smoother read, but I know it's only me.
Geez?
are you okay? I know you have been thrown from the horse and gut-kicked. I felt the same with Chrys' passing. I cried my self to sleep thinking of my loss of a good friend. then i kicked myself for being selfish. Steve made me a celebratory cup of coffee(Carolan's Amaretto and Butter Shots, in a little bit of coffee!) we made a toast to Chrys for moving on past the pain and traveling to a better plane. I hope you feel better soon.
