embrace the alcoholic in me
that would ease you in
to my personal sort of suffering
unrestrained
cards played
suggest grace
kept close to vest
it's an insult to call
what's unrevealed
an illusion
to someone like you
my attention is had
full weight of this focus
would smother others
and has
maybe monster
is the wrong moniker
maybe man is a name
an albatross can't earn
my fall is descent slowed
a search for meaning
shy the bottom
flying's first step
a plummet wrapped
in possession
the earth here
is burnt for a reason
the ghosts in these graves
cry not for remembrance
but for mercy
they are not forgotten
they are ignored

dear IO
I liked these lines, for I have one of my own:
maybe monster
is the wrong moniker
maybe man is a name
an albatross can't earn
my fall is descent slowed
but, these lines blew me away:
the ghosts in these graves
cry not for remembrance
but for mercy
they are not forgotten
they are ignored
the reason I love your poems is because I always find something I can strongly relate to. you have a wonderful dark side! your imagery is stunning!
