Poets and appreciators
Prophets and acolytes
Drunks and sadists
Victims and violators alike
Sickened by secrets and
Stricken with brilliance
Are you the product or
Are you the process
What part do you play in
The sudden grace
Proper poetry elicits
We are gathered together
And anchored outside
The imperative
Utterly alone despite
Any union we attempt
Solitary in the displacement
Our perspective effects
Called upon to find a
Renewed refined and
Ever more finely honed word
One that is always closer to
Its birth than its closure
Always more governed by its
Saying than by its said
So that others may transcend
No gods no judgement
No verdict or contemned
Poets all
Each an indivisible origin
Of the meaning we portend
You are my poet and
You are my poem
The world begins its turn
With you

Very nicely said...
Only one criticism, I would have used; "Saying than by [being said]. ~ Geezer.
.
thank you
I did butt heads with that piece. The idea is that the saying of the word...the existence of it out in the air we all share...once it leaves the mouth or the pen...that is more important that the "said" in this case, which would be the source / person uttered or wrote it. Suboptimal as written but it's in the neighborhood I was aiming for. I appreciate your feedback immensely. Thank you for reading.
dear IO,
I agree. the only other thought that springs to mind is: we have each lived our own reality and we will also die it. no escape from this. happy yule to you.
*hugs, Cat
why escape
whether our moment right now is a puddle or flood, we are all of us crossing this sleepless river together, one step at a time or not at all. As it has always been. Thank you so much for reading and as always love to hear your thoughts.

Hey man
No room fort deprecation here. We all have our stripes and spots and proclivities, no peanut brains here. I appreciate you reading and your feedback as always is valuable to me. By the way, I consider Charles Schulz to have been a genius.
