Storm

Wade with me into laity
I’ll place a pond for you
in the place you sit
filled with droplets
of morning dew
Let the memory of our love
flourish in you like a vine
unencumbered by time
Let the clarity of the moment
wrap around you
Fill the fear now in your mind
Let it drown it in the timbre
of a voice you still remember
Just past your focal point
No further yet
than a handful of trying days
A small collection of setting suns
Borrow my best angels
Wrap in warmth of beating wings
An army of strength
A pinpoint in your sky
Ever growing
A beacon
The shape of love and security
An eclipse that’s coming
We are not the shelter
We are the storm
Hold on

Rosewood Apothecary

At times I want more from life. Some fame or money would be nice for all my creative efforts. I know my ego is ill equipped. The older I get the more I appreciate the “normal” life I’ve been granted. Letting go of this idea that things were supposed to have turned out better or more exciting and less mundane slowly dissolve into quiet resolution. I am an expert on nothing but I am a thirsty learner. I’ve never made any giant leaps of progress without accepting this concept of laity. You can’t grow if you’re already “perfect”. I love this poem.

my favorite lines of this poem are:

An eclipse that’s coming
We are not the shelter
We are the storm
Hold on

it really stirs the blood and soul. the entire poem is fantastic, but those lines hold it together.
thank you for such a memorable piece!

and I will show you how uncommon our love can be, I can understand the emotion of that. ~ Geezer.
