Is there somewhere that exists
a gigantic tome of words?
A place my thoughts are saved
roosting spots for little birds
For thought can fly and words can live
tethered to each other
I want to know if they survive
once read by my brothers
Are they simply laid aside
when they are read and done
or do they live on forever
warmed by an eternal sun?
A repository built with love
a place where they can rest
Are the great ones left alone
to take their place among the best?
Make it like a reservation
a preservation hall
A place where thoughts and wishes
await the gaze of all
I dreamt a book of poems
an unlimited tome of pages
Where poets live forever
untouched by all the ages

Hi Gee
I think the bones of this are good. If you don't mind I'll repost via cut and past with so changes made :
Is there somewhere they exist
a gigantic tome of words?
A place my thoughts all are saved
roosting spots for little birds
For thoughts can fly and words can live
tethered to each other
I want to know if they survive
once read by my brothers
Od are they simply laid aside
when they are read and done
or do they live on forever
at peace beneath time's sun?
A repository of built of love
and a place where they can rest
Are the great ones left alone
to share thoughts that are blessed?
Make it like a quite reserve
or a preservation hall
A place where thoughts and wishes
await the view all
I dreamt a book of poems
an unlimited amount of pages
Where poets live on forever
untouched by all the ages
Just some ideas that rattled out of my empty skull
Thank you...
for your careful attention to this piece, I think you made a couple of valuable changes to it. I didn't use your changes exactly
and I guess that is just my own pride or whatever, but I think it is much better now. Thank you again! ~ Geez.

I pretty much
Never expect any of my suggestions be used word for word but, rather, use them to show there might be a better alternative.
The Gigantic Tome of Poems
Hi, Geezer,
You are the Keeper of The Tome of Poems, or The Tome of Poems Keeper- at least for our generation. Such a beautiful poem. Feels dusty and fragile and yellowed, yet wise and well-read with lots of bookmarks and dog-eared pages. Really beautiful.

I blush...
I am honored by you all; it is a great privilege to work with you and be associated with Neopoet. I have never been happier than when I am writing and a part of this wonderful site. ~ Geezer.

Fantastic
In a literal sense. I mean imagine the size of this book. Tome indeed. Obviously you know this one is really good. Great idea. Great execution. Impressive but not pretentious language. One of my favorite poems you’ve written since I got here. No, definitely my favorite.
I’m proud of you,
Tim
Reminds me of a favorite song of mine
You Write the Book
Song lyrics: You Write the Book by Max Creek
First thing in the morning
Is the last thing on my mind
6 o’clock is the warning
I’ve gotta get back to that same old grind
Blank pages lie before me
Never look back
Never look back
You, write the book
You write the book
Look over to the left
Looking back to my right
First I’m buried in the darkness
Then I’m covered in light
See the people in there working
Never look back
Never look back
You, write the book
You write the book
What’s the benefit of laughing
When you only have to cry
Why take the big adventure
When you’re only left to die
Put the last page in the middle
And never turn back
Never turn back
You, write the book
You write the book

You have...
made me proud to be in your company. ~ Geez.
P.S. Thank you for turning me on to Max Creek! I can't believe I've never noticed them before!

Beautiful!
Hi Geezer,
I really enjoyed the rhyming in this poem and the ending was especially satisfying. I can feel a sense of gratitude for poetry overall, though that is just how I've interpreted it. Thank you for sharing,
- Leo
You are welcome...
you got it right! I have a great love of poetry and my fellow poets.
~ Geezer.

Again..
..your skills in rhyme and meter are evident in this poem of wonderment. Something to dig one's teeth into. It's really great to read another classical advocate once in a while and you do not disappoint.
Cheers Geezer

Well now...
I guess I'm having my fifteen minutes of fame! Many thanks for the many compliments you have given me. I love the poetry that tells a story, and rhyme does a particularly good job. Above all, I love to listen to great oratory masters and have often wished I might hear Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, or someone like Morgan Freeman, read some of my work. Someday I'll get down to the local bar and do another open mike night. I'm glad enjoyed this one. ~ Geez.
