Human, Cat and Mouse
An apparent social stratification
Is reversed, on this rare occasion
That takes place, in a certain house
With a game of human, cat and mouse
The human lays a trap with care
With the hope, the mouse, it will ensnare
Lurking near, the cat does wait
For the mouse to catch the cheesy bait
The cat may be large and have sharp claws
But it’s not so good when there are holes in the walls
The size of a mouse and not of a cat
So, the cheesy bait’s not the only trap
No time like the present, out darts the vermin
And misleads the cat, fiercely determined
Reversing direction now being perused
By a feline who thought the mouse wanted food
Made to look stupid the cat is incensed
So chases the mouse then crashes against
The hole that’s too small for the cat who’s too big
Then catches the eye of the man who twigs
That both human and cat have diabolically failed
So, between them they’ve lost
it’s the mouse who’s prevailed.
it’s the mouse who’s prevailed.

A Tom and Jerry scene...
That was my first thought after reading this. A funny kind of write! I would make just a few little changes that I think would make it a little smoother:
1] with the hope of mouse, it ensnares
2] mouse to snatch the cheesy bait
3] now being pursued
4] the hole too small
5] critically failed
a few small changes that should make it smoother. ~ Geezer.

Well, I'm not gunna lie.
Well, I'm not gunna lie. Was inspired by that cartoon. I have a niece and nephew and watch that with them. Just thought I'd add a twist. I see there is an option to jointly write a poem. how about we each pick a word at random and combine them. then between us, after talking, make it an original creation
I will think...
about that. ~ Geezer.

I’m sorry. Couldn’t help myself
Never seen it. Heard of it
Never seen it. Heard of it though. Might have to search on YouTube. Been made homeless so haven't been on this site in a while. But now have accommodation in a council place with the internet at last. Can now start writing again
