The rustle of the vines
and the whisper of the leaves
The Peanut gang is hiding
with shaking, weakened knees
Waitng for the Great Pumpkin
to see if he exists
Lucy holds on to Schroder
trying to steal a kiss
The moon is full and yellow
an alley-cat does yowl
Snoopy makes a joke
does a werewolf howl
Lucy's had enough of this
she runs off down the street
The peanut gang is following
They want to live to Trick or Treat
Poor Linus sits and wonders
will the Great Pumpkin come?
At last he wanders down the street
feeling kind of dumb
As he walks away, he smiles
it's just like Santa Claus
It's something to believe in
just because, just because...

Nostalgia
Obviously I’m old enough to have watched this cartoon every year. I pretty much just watched it again. Aside fact the harvest thingy event in our town where I grew up was “The Great Pumpkin Festival”. Nothing wrong here. Well done.

So glad that...
it was that good for you. Yeah, I still watch it every year. One of my favorite stories about the Peanuts gang. Thanks for the read and comments. ~ Geez.

The Pumpkin Patch
Hi, Geezer,
I used to look forward to Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin cartoon every year, and of course, enjoy the comic strip. A fun poem with a fun rhyme. You've captured their characters really well! Wonderful ending! (Is Killer taking a rest this terrifying season?)
Thank you!
L
Thanks...
I really love the Snoopy and Peanuts gang shows every holiday season. I'm just a 74-year-old kid!
I'm glad that you enjoyed this one, I had great fun in writing it. And Killer will be around sometime in the next week or so, he's been off on a walk-about, but He called yesterday saying that he was on his way home~ Geez.
