Ghost

I wander the halls
Night and day
Dust particles
Illuminating my way

I sweep the floors
And wash the clothes
But no one seems
To notice at all

Just work two jobs
And pay those bills
No one cares
If you're really there

You're just a paycheck
And free health care

.

I basically haven’t had a payroll job in 20 years. If I’m going to be under appreciated I’m totally capable of diminishing my own self worth. I definitely don’t need any extra help.

Nice job,

but somebody has to do it! Personally, I think that you do a fine job! You are raising your children to be respectful, keeping a nice, clean house and dealing with some stressful situations while balancing two jobs on top of the whole thing. Plus, a good poet! You have my admiration. ~ Geez.

Hi, Rose,
Your poem brings back memories. I'm retired now, but will always remember the days as a working mother. Never enough money, time, energy. But like you, I always knew I was giving 100 percent and that's what helped me sleep at night. I understand your title, and it goes with your poem's theme...I just wish I could change it for you to something more deserving.
Thank you!

It is good to hear from someone who has been there a d understands. I give it my all but feel like I continuously fall short. I make sure all have what they need and most of what they want and someone is always unhappy. Thank you for understanding.
