Day & Night

You write your words
In the silence of the night
Laid bare on 104 keys
You think your thoughts
In the dead of the day

You darling girl
With no audience
You dance in the dark
Your eyes are blind
Is this imposter syndrome
I can’t see
You think to yourself

Once you take the leap
Into a vat of judgment
You put your soul in anothers hands
And once you do
You’ll be glad
Even if a little sad at first

Learn and grow
And become your best self
Write and write and write
And write

And never forget
To keep your words and thoughts
In the day and night
Down to paper.

Rosewood Apothecary

This hit me a few different ways when I read it. Personally I get a feeling of validation knowing anybody even read something I wrote. Sometimes I’m sad if I don’t get an overwhelming response to a post to the stream. It’s nice to operate from a place of self validation but to think you’d never need to feel validated by anyone or anything external is definitely unrealistic. You write well and I can tell that it’s mostly for your benefit and less about what others feel. However, I enjoy reading your stuff and I’d urge you to continue to follow your heart with it.

It’s really good. It immediately invoked feelings I have about the site. It’s a good candidate for the contest. I feel it would make a great opener. Again, excellent job.
