The Life of Night
When the sun sets and ends the day,
Another life living and on the way,
The night a mysterious time,
Full of magic and some things divine,
The moon a crescent of white,
Fireflies coming to bear their light,
The owl presiding over the dark,
Nothing making a single mark,
Moonflowers bloom all around,
A rare beauty to be found,
Water, a silvery sheen,
This new life seen only by the keen.
For a challenge.. let’s
For a challenge.. let’s attempt to see the beauty and fascinating parts of the night on this one rather than the usual horror and evil

I apologize as that was not
I apologize as that was not my intent at all! I think maybe we could think even more outside of the box to get more comments! More creative pieces might bring in interest.

On the unlit streets of this ragged night
The beams of the moon hit me just right
They show me the way to have fun
The kind you cannot have in the sun
The ladies are all dressed in black
All the ladies have the right knack
I go to where the moon never shines
At night we always play outside the lines
End Depressed 1

Begin Alan
My feet find their way to the river's edge;
where spans its waters is an old stone bridge.
I walk to its midpoint and sit on the wall--
here, all is darkness, and darkness is all--
til across from me comes a soft click--
a lighter is lit. A flame on its wick
lights the face of a woman igniting a smoke--
who says to me gently--here, have a toke.
End Alan
Begin Geezer
Her breath is warm and whispery
filled with the sweetest smoke
Her hand is soft and feels to me
sweaty as I hold the toke
The moon is silver against the black
I can barely see her face
I fumble as I hand the joint back
she's looking off into space
The stars trace patterns in the sky
make zodiacal themes
I catch the glimmer in her eye
we make love next to the stream
End Geezer.

Song of the River and rustle
Song of the River and rustle of leaves
Cacophony of the insects that cry
Give counterpoint to the way that we breathe
Entangled in love beneath this dark sky
I’ll meet you in thicket, meadow, or glade
Under Luna’s indifferent eyes
Intoxication from blue plumes of smoke that we made
Expressed in the sweetest symphony of sighs
Two...
thumbs up!
Wrapped in...
Wrapped only in a cloak of smoke
Stars dripping like candle wax
Across our sweat soaked skin
Taking each other in again and again
A lone cloud covers the moon
As if to keep our tryst unknown
Only the night knows who we've done
And where we've been
.

Who...
or [what] we've done? It works either way, I guess. ~ Geez.

As I laid in my lover’s arm, reminiscing the moment
My mystery lover, I met only at night
Into a world of no fear or fright
Our souls connect within our hearts and light
The time passed by with no care in the world
Under the moonlight of passion untold
The telepathy of our minds longed to let this moment last
Never escape the life at the night
Excellent round!
I think this is my favorite. You all know how I feel about romance and nature. I have an intimate relationship with cannabis as well. This feels like me.
This was amazing! Thank you

Your most welcome all.
Your most welcome all.
I am very pleased...
with this one, especially since everyone liked the way that it went. I want to congratulate everyone for taking their time and delivering better pieces than the previous writes. I want this thoughtful process to continue, with everyone taking time to consider these collaborative poems as something that will improve spontaneity with an aim toward working well with partners
and maybe doing co-writes. Again, thanks to all for making these fun and having a good time. The next one will commence in a few days. ~ Geezer.
