SILENCE

She sits quietly as
we wait at her door
pensive, languishing
without anticipation
of more

resignation
is related
without the resentment,
a gentle acknowledgement -
baptismal rain for the repentant

she alights on the mind
bringing quietude to the soul,
acceptance is her acquaintance -
who's only just
become known.

I do not feel like speaking words to this, it is just beautiful as Shirl says, Bonnie.

Love from Ann.

The benefit of silence is under rated. Too bad that to find it one often must retreat to areas sans people lol. I might would consider having the word silence as 1st line instead of depending on reader realizing that title IS the 1st line...but just an opinion.........scribbler

This piece was not so much in praise of Silence per se, but an acknowledgement of "giving up gracefully" when you've been trying repeatedly to get through to someone and it hasn't succeeded.
Hence
"resignation
is related
without the resentment"
sort of a quiet retreat....
Scribbler, thanks! I liked your suggestion and I went back to put in the personification at the beginning~!
I'm beginning to like being here - although it spells work! ;)
