I remember you not, you are only a fading memory
Though I feel your name use to be familiar to me
Did we kiss and hold each other a long time ago?
My heart feels like you are someone I should know
Did we walk along a Moon lit beach hand in hand?
Did we sit under a swaying palm tree in the soft sand?
The rain reminds me of something but I forgot what
Was it a particular Summer day when it rained a lot?
Is that when we were married and we made our vows?
Did we promise to love each other from then until now?
Now I cannot even remember the good times that we had
I do not understand your tears and why you are so sad
Dear stranger I did not mean to bring you any pain
My heart remembers everything but not so my brain

I realize...
the pain one goes through, when a loved one does not remember who you are and the times that were shared. I have had some experience with it myself, as my mother-in-law had Alzheimer's and didn't recognize my wife and only vaguely, the rest of her family on some days and not all on others. It is a hard thing to bear for the family and you see the victim struggle with it too. My only suggestion here, is to fix the rhythm in the last line by saying:
My heart remembers everything, but it's not in my brain. Very nicely done. ~ Geezer.

Thanks
Thanks Geezer. For me it was my Dad who had brain cancer.
Very touching poem
This piece was written with such honesty. Your flow and use of rhyme were very good. Well done.
Thanks
Thanks RoseBlack. I wrote it from my heart.
