Mind Games

Love is broken, torn and melted;
Broken and spilt into pieces;
Hush! A child is a victim;
The child becomes a teenager;
Teenagers into adolescence;
Adolescence into a woman;
Woman into mistress;
A can of wounds;
Horrors unfold;
For all members of the family

Mother needs love, but never felt love;
Children long for their mother’s love;
But mother does not know how to show or share love;
Ups comes father;
Oops! A perpetrator;
The mother did not cater;
Such a life of lies and haters;
Yet silently the cycle continues;
Psychologically affecting all;
Crimes are committed yet the ripple effects continue to fall;

Echoes of my children's voices;
It never leaves, it lingers like a frightened feeling;
I blamed myself for this world of fears;
The children have suffered;
By the hands of the parents;
Would I have tried to reach out for help?
Would I have tried to escape?
Either way, escape led to divorce;

Yet the mother is free to start her life over again;
She tries to take one step forward;
To try to cope one day at a time;
But the children remain lonely, scarred and hurt;
As stages in their life differ;
Their hearts are crushed like concrete blocks;
Their memories stain and blot through their phases in life;
They struggled to stand, they are afraid to fall, yet afraid to run;
Despite the fight to survive.

Sigh. It’s vicious. My heart is with you always. I can tell however that you possess the tools and self worth that can work thru this. If you ever need some gentle reminder of that I’ll be here for you.

Continue in the light,
Tim

Of abuse and generational curses. They are horrible and traumatizing. My heart truly cries for you. You are incredibly strong and brave to have survived and to keep pushing through. You have a whole family here at Neo to help if needed.

It is pathetic! I am well aware of your experiences. You sad moments is heartily felt. You appeared pensive, worried and the center cannot hold. I see dark clouds hovering all round your home. Tough time never last but tough people do.

Jackweb thank you for sharing your comments and inspiring words. To all of you, that period of my life has passed and these poems are poems of repressed memories, at least some of them. Part of my healing is to be able to write and express my vulnerability without wanting pity from others.

Candlewitch

some organization available to help deal with these matters?

*hugs, Cat

Mark yes there are. Thanks for taking the time for reading this piece and sharing your thought.
Just a gentle reminder that period of my life has passed, and the healing process was undergone, hence I can write freely without feeling sadness or pity but these poems are healing poems to encourage silent victims of abuse to speak out and seek help. Thanks for taking the time to read this piece.
