I've heard it takes a tree
twenty years to bear quality fruit
I have taken six decades
am still looking forward
to some juicy ones
yet a distance away
somewhere in the background
of a horizon far away
glad I am
many still come
my way
fragrances of my love....
many sway
shall
for some time more
ere I pass......

Watching the fruit grow...
I understand the delight in tender fruit, juicy and delectable sweetness on the tongue! The old farmers have a knack for picking the juiciest, sweetest fruits, because they know when to pick them! Not too early or too late. Too early, and one might incur the bee's wrath, too late and the fruit may be overripe and mushy. You have the knowledge of many decades and surely know the vagaries of farming fruit! LoL
