Shined On Me...

I read on and on
thinking of greatness
wondering if I will ever
attain such heights
seems impossible

she waits patiently
having no clue
steady as she goes
wondering too

making time
isn't so hard
it's the time off
wandering and playing
fooling around
whilst enjoying it all

her lips like pale suckers
draining the creativity
but keeping me saner
than I want to be
I love the suction
and the worry hurry

silver trinkets
kept in the drawer
blackened with old
she gave them to me
I keep them

will i go on
diminished
strained and drained
i have no idea
yet

About This Poem

Last Few Words: For my April poem of the month, I took a cue from one of our poets here, and choose one of our own, who has passed on to greater works in the heavens. Esker! I have long regarded him as one of the great undiscovered poets of our time, and hope that I have done him proud. We had many discussions of my work, his and about life in general. I hope that I did him justice.

Stephan. I was a great admirer of his work. He was an extremely talented poet. I certainly hope I did well in emulating him.~Geez.

I am very surprised to see that many of his works, were left lonely. I spent a couple of hours reading and examining his work and tried hard to do what he did. I don't think that I will ever be as good, but I tried. He was my most favored poet of all when it comes to Neo. ~ Geez.

I don't have the background on the emulated author, but this poem calls for repeated reading. The sound of words and richness of emotions bring images to life, and that is what I like most about poetry.

He was very prolific and one of our premier poets. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with numerous health problems and has gone to the great beyond. I had many conversations with him and miss him greatly. I think that you will enjoy his works very much. ~ Geezer.
