I remember the days, years ago,
negotiating our terms of living together
Learning to navigate each other
It was an awkward and exciting time
Nothing was too much to ask,
nothing too small to remember
Here we are now, in our days of gold,
trying to agree on what we should plant in our garden,
or which book we should both read next
I’ll fall asleep tonight next to you
with a chance to see my best friend again
in the dusty amber morning light,
filtered through windows
you asked me to clean weeks ago!

I remember...
the Honey-Do-List! I used to help out with it when I could. Now I am disabled and he spends time helping me. I used to drive my own motorcycle. and I wasn't a bad passenger either. there is a trick to it, lol.
my favorite lines are:

he reads to me at night, before bed/sleep. the only problem is he has the kind of voice that is so mellow and warm, it puts me to sleep!

"golden years", I do a lot more than I used to, especially since I've retired. I like the warm, fuzzy emotion that I got from this.
I do the same thing, I agree to do a chore, and then completely forget about it until either she reminds me or I think
"those windows look kinda dirty!" Which will remind me that I should have done them before this! I don't think of that as being lazy or uncaring, just being comfortable enough in our life to be able to forget. Nice job of helping me remember those long ago years of nothing being too small or too big. ~ Geez.

Reflection of life
When husband and wife enjoying doing things together the home becomes a love center, peace and harmony will succeed. Most especially when some responsibilities are shared. One could help each other and fulfill his or her task knowing that all is for the betterment of their own home.
Geezer is reminiscing his olden days of his marriage life. Beautiful!
