Rat shaped mat (Shel Silverstein)

A rat sat on a mat
It was a little mat in the shape of a hat
The rat fell asleep to dreams of a bat
Then along came a really fat cat
The fat cat yawned and then he sat on the mat
Now there's a mat in the shape of a rat

Geezer

have thought that your poet would be Dr. Seuss, who wrote many poems of this type. Very good! I was intrigued with who this person was and went to look him up. I was very surprised to learn that he was a prolific poet, author of books and a cartoonist! Much more interesting than Dr. Seuss! Thank you for giving me someone new to read. Good job! ~ Geez.

A flashback to my childhood and Where The Sidewalk Ends! I thought this was really great. The words flowed together easily and created a simple, yet slightly comical story. Well done!
