a workshop sort of like you just did, but more basic. I guess that meter workshops have been done practically to death here, but it is a fundamental to writing structured classic poetry and there is always room for improvement.
As an exercise, one person will start with a line written in perfect metre of their own choice. Score 1 point. Next person may either write the next line of the poem in the same perfect meter (score 1 point) OR find a fault in the previous line and correct it for 1 point with the OPTION of adding a line for a bonus 1 point. The lines must be in rhyming couplets or quatrains.

The only thing I'm not sure of is how to make it so everyone can add to the same piece....(:(
Maybe the workshopper can be in charge of adding the changes to the poem?
The workshop can run for four weeks and as many 12-24 line poems that can be produced in that time.
Winner has the most points.

we can run this shop together. I am fully aware that the meter in a lot of my stuff is off so I'm not comfortable running a meter shop on my own. We had 3 people who were excellent with meter on site. Two passed away and the other one's spouse got cancer and he has been understandably AWOL ever since.
The reason for the 2 month wait? There have been times in the past when a new member ran a shop then for whatever reason just left the site. I reckon a person who has been here 3 months is not likely to do the same. So bide your time and shoot me a reminder in October and we can get together and come up with a synopsis

it was just a suggestion. I just thought I might help out. I might be starting a new job soon, so less time to hang out here. That's why I didn't volunteer.

Hmmm...ketchup and toe jam....hmm

toe nails for that crunchy texture lol. I don't want to push you or anybody into running a shop but if there comes a time you are ready just holler

I expect ya'll are becoming weary of my leading the last 2 workshops. Understandable. Hence I'm asking for volunteers to lead the next shop. About the only real requirement is having been on site at least 3 months. Everybody has something they can teach about poetry and if you are interested don't worry about being out there on your own. My being the workshop director I can assure you you can have all the help I can give you.......or as little as you want. So just holler here if you are interested and we can discuss the idea......stan (scribbler)
