the folks from Nantucket are glum
because limericks make them look dumb
their confusion makes sense
'cuz the truth is- they're dense
let's dispense with the pestering thrum

Last Few Words: Limericks are my favourite form because of the strict rules and the need for being conservative..also the bouncy rhythm is perfect for it's usual bawdiness!

I assume you have picked on Nantucket because one of the most famous limericks of all time features that location. I always thought limericks were supposed to be funny (preferably risqué as well). I honestly have to say I don't know what a "pestering thrum" is. I will go and google it.
