Main Street

There is a gent named Pop who runs the barbershop.
He also play a zany tambourine.
For five bucks if you're brave, you'll get a real close shave,
then sit a spell out on the mezzanine
while Ricky's Quartet sings their tune at the Barbershop Fest in June.

Down just about a block, beneath the old town clock,
Sarah hangs a bright billboard on the wall.
"Hot Dogs, Funnel Cakes, Pop - Music, Dancing Non-Stop.
Come Join The Town Fun! We'll All Have A Ball
While Ricky's Quartet Sings Their Tune At The Barbershop Fest in June!"

The diner's motif cup displays steam rising up,
the hint of aroma from fresh brewed joe.
Lloyd's inside at the grill, flips a burger, adds dill,
then slides the dinner platter down to Flo,
while Ricky's Quartet sings their tune at the Barbershop Fest in June.

Pop sweeps the hardwood floor, flips "Closed" on his shop door,
Sarah runs toward the sound of the band.
Lloyd's apron meets a chair - wipes his hands, smooths his hair,
Flo spreads her mustard at the hot dog stand
while Ricky's Quartet sings their tune at the Barbershop Fest in June.

An owl keeps a keen eye as the crowd rolls on by,
chatter rises into the evening air.
Soft lights illuminate, lovers anticipate
dancing together at the Old Towne Square
while Ricky's Quartet sings their tune at the Barbershop Fest in June.

I love the bustle of Main Streets everywhere, especially when there is a special event!
Thank you!

Geezer

you have taken the time and made the effort to use what you have learned in Scribbler's workshop! See, if Lavender can do it? The refrain adds a little music to this one. Nice job! ~ Geez.
